A writer attentive to language, imagination, and change.

ML Brei writes at the meeting place of language, technology, and human experience. Her nonfiction brings clarity to complex ideas; her fiction follows people navigating technological and personal change; and her inspirational work invites readers to discover new meaning within familiar traditions.

Her path to authorship has moved through the humanities, education, and the technology industry. After attending Smith College, she worked at Hewlett-Packard and went on to spend many years teaching and developing curricula. Through her consulting work at Joint Computer Technologies and Training Management (JCTM), she pursued sustained research into artificial intelligence and prompt engineering, developing expertise through both disciplined study and practical application. She approaches writing and teaching with the belief that even the most complicated subjects can become approachable when they are presented in a structured and coherent manner.

She founded Meripoint Books, an independent publisher for regional authors in 2024. In 2026, she established Meripoint Books & Writing Corner, an independent bookselling and literary space devoted to workshops, author events, and opportunities for writers and readers to meet, learn, and exchange ideas.

Across her body of work runs a continuing theme: how does language shape what we understand, and what happens when a changing world asks us to see familiar things differently?

Ideas still in motion.

Short essays, research notes, and reflections will gather here as the article library grows.
